I think that I&#039;ll probably over-spray the ballast with a thin wash - perhaps an India Ink wash. I&#039;m also considering blending the edge of the roadbed with an over-spray of the ground colour.

Great stuff and nice progress.  I agree, the rails are a key detail to get a good look.  I&#039;m getting close to this stage and I have debated the timing of this step.  If you do it post-ballast, it tends to mute the colour of the ballast and help blend things.  What do you think?
